dressy

Sorry again for doing another double post!  Last weekend I had a fabulous girls staycation in Downtown Fort Worth with Cameron, Rachel, and Lyndzee for our birthdays!  We stayed in a fancy hotel and left our men and babies at home.  :) It was a much needed getaway for all of us in which we ate, drank, complained, gossiped, and reminisced as much as we wanted!  Wonderful!  I hope it becomes a yearly tradition.  This weekend Paul and I went to see The Lost Boys at the new Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson- another fun weekend!  Today I have been as lazy as possible and excited to finally make time to upload these pictures.

I love this wooden double strand on Staishy.  The brown really pops against her skin, hair, and eyes!  Love it!  I have several of Nanny's wooden necklaces as well- so many combinations to wear together or on their own.  I love the simple, natural look of them.  I know Staishy had a hard time picking out which one to wear!  Nanny's stack ring with black stones is beautiful too.  I have one exactly like it with red stones- I can't wait to debut it.  It has been so exciting wearing such different pieces.  Many of the pieces I may not have ever picked out or noticed had I been shopping in a store, but they have become some of my favorites.  I know Staishy would agree!  Nanny certainly was on the cutting edge of jewelry.

Yes, I am wearing the same dress in two different colors...like Nanny I find something I like and buy it in every color. :) I loved this long orange necklace against the teal dress!  I actually have earrings that match it perfectly.  Someone asked if they were a set and when they found out that the necklace was my grandmother's they were impressed on how well the style carried over to today.  Such a cool statement piece and I LOVE that orange.  My new favorite has to be this jade elephant!  This little guy (I say little but he is actually pretty heavy) was so much fun to wear.  I kept looking down at him or holding him and it made me smile every time!

  1. Gorgeous! And I agree about the eclectic nature of her jewelry. I find myself in love with pieces that I wouldn't otherwise have considered. Nanny has certainly inspired me to be more adventurous.
